Introduction

 

Sodium Acetate Trihydrate is a moderately water soluble crystalline Sodium source that decomposes to Sodium oxide on heating. It is generally immediately available in most volumes. All metallic acetates are inorganic salts containing a metal cation and the acetate anion, a univalent (-1 charge) polyatomic ion composed of two carbon atoms ionically bound to three hydrogen and two oxygen atoms (Symbol: CH3COO) for a total formula weight of 59.05. Acetates are excellent precursors for production of ultra high purity compounds, catalysts, and nanoscale materials. We also produce Sodium Acetate Trihydrate Solution. Applications

 

In the food processing industry sodium acetate can be used as seasoning buffer, meat preservative. Control of stickiness caused by fungus in bread production and storage of cereals with high water content; The product can also be used as textile printing and dyeing auxiliaries (mordant), photographic industry buffer, chemical reagents and pharmaceutical intermediate Chemicalbook body; It can also be used as raw materials for synthesizing organic chemical products such as furan acrylic acid, acetate, chloroacetic acid, acetic anhydride and cinnamic acid. In addition, because sodium acetate aqueous solution has some special thermal properties compared with pure water, it can be used in hand heaters and bottle heaters. It is also used in the treatment of renal failure in the hemodialyzer.

 

Safety

 

Sodium acetate is widely used in cosmetics, foods, and pharmaceutical formulations, and is generally regarded as a nontoxic and nonirritant material.
A short-term feeding study in chickens with a diet supplemented with 5.44% sodium acetate showed reduced growth rates that were attributed to the sodium content.(9) Sodium acetate is poisonous if injected intravenously, is moderately toxic by ingestion, and is an irritant to the skin and eyes.
